The nose is a prominent characteristic in the face of every human being. However, it can cause functional as well as aesthetic complaints. The various disorders of the nose, for example a disabled breathing, a partly even covered by the ambulatory health care.
Plastic-aesthetic surgery on the nose is almost always performed under general anesthesia.
- The so-called hump nose usually causes an angle of the upper nasal skeleton that is too flat. This leads to a visible bump at the junction from the bony to the cartilaginous, movable part of the nose. We remove a slightly pronounced protuberance from inside. If the hump is more pronounced, the nasal bone must be repositioned. After this surgery, the new nose shape is stabilized from inside and outside for 10 to 12 days.
- Interventions on the cartilaginous, movable part of the nose are usually carried out because of a too much protuberant or a strongly bent tip of the nose. As a rule, an open access is required in which fine incisions are made in both nostrils. These meet on the nose bridge between the nostrils. After the various nasal cartilages have been modeled into the desired shape, the skin within the nostrils is sutured. In order to support healing, a supportive bandage is usually applied for ten days. Only in exceptional cases are tampons necessary, which are removed after about two to three days.
Depending on the extent of the surgery, you can return to your usual work after two weeks at the latest.
